R&B chanteuse Shamin reveals a higher level love on U R Me

Ugandan British vocalist said that the music that she creates is driven by her desire to inject honesty into her work. And what can be more honest than true love. On "U R Me," the new single release from her eagerly anticipated EP that drops next year, Shamin takes fans on a audio and visual journey that explores the joy and peace a person feels when connect with someone they want to spend the day and the rest of their lives with.

The sensual "U R Me" comes hot on the success of Shamin's two previous single releases "Option & Priority" and "Intentional" and show why the Ugandan born and UK raised artist is drawing praise from the likes of  SingersRoom, New Wave Magazine, Guestlist Magazine, Kingsize Magazine and Word Is Bond.

Shamin counts as her musical influences some of the most iconic singers who defined soul music and love songs over the years, such as Etta James, Nina Simone and Otis Redding. And like those legends, Shamin uses her sweetly seductive voice to bring listeners into a world where nothing exists but a woman, a man and the growing love that they share.

The accompanying video, shot at the prestigious Sadler’s Wells Theatre and docklands riverside, is a collaboration between Shamin film director Prince Mensah, visual director Mawiya Williams and designer Suma Nako moves between showing the couple in the intimate enviorment of their home and moving through those iconic landmarks and serve as the backdrop for a love that grows stronger.

Shamin reflects on the song "U R Me" by saying:

“The song is inspired by the feeling of growing in love with someone. The song is about the power of love.  As love is the highest frequency, it is an exceptional phenomenon that every human being craves but can also breed so much pain. Nonetheless we must remain open and vulnerable to the idea because love is the greatest gift of them all. I believe in having faith for things I haven’t seen or experienced yet, and with this song, I decided to create a world where the love that my heart desires exists”.
