Mariah Carey Talks History and Making of "All I Want For Christmas Is You" for Amazon Music

Everyone knows "All I Want For Christmas Is You." It may be Mariah Carey's biggest musical legacy. Now, on the 25th anniversary of the song's release,  the "The Queen of Christmas" has linked up with Amazon for a documentary about the song's making and history.

In the 11-minute clip, Carey reminisces about the studio session for “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” as well as other stories about recording her first-ever holiday album at an early stage in her career.”

“As we continue to celebrate the 25th anniversary of ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You,’ it was important for me to share part of the story behind this song that still brings me joy every year,” Carey said in a press statement. “I hope you enjoy Amazon Music’s special glimpse into the magic of this song. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!”

The mini-documentary also includes commentary from Randy Jackson (Carey’s longtime collaborator); Shirley Halperin (executive editor for music at Variety); Gary Trust (Billboard’s senior director of charts); and Trey Lorenz (Carey’s longtime backup singer and friend).
