JORDAN WARD BLENDS THE PAST AND PRESENT IN THOUGHTFUL “BUSSDOWN” VIDEO
Interscope Records’ Jordan Ward takes viewers on a stroll down memory lane in the official music video for the alt-influenced “BUSSDOWN,” premiering today. In the music video, the R&B sensation cruises through his neighborhood and reflects on both simpler, carefree days and his dreams of future success. A cameo from a young Jordan completes the link between past and present. The ”BUSSDOWN” video release continues a run of highlights. This Saturday, April 1, he will take the stage at the 2023 Dreamville Festival in North Carolina alongside marquee acts such as J. Cole, Drake, Summer Walker and Burna Boy. Next up, Jordan Ward will spring into his first headlining tour, TOURWARD. The trek begins May 3 in Atlanta, Ga., with New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, and, of course, St. Louis, among the stops. TOURWARD comes on the heels of Jordan supporting JID and Smino’s LuvIs4Ever Tour in February and March. Hailed as “a force on the stage,” Jordan drew praise for being “up to the challenge– both energetically and musically.” The excitement and demand surrounding Jordan’s first headlining tour are clear – three of the eight TOURWARD dates have already sold out.
“BUSSDOWN” appears on Jordan Ward’s acclaimed debut album, FORWARD, which has made the dynamo one of the most encouraging breakthrough acts of 2023. With influences ranging from old-school funk, alternative rock and hip-hop, FORWARD sees Jordan Ward elevate and expand the R&B genre and all its potential. Album highlights include the Joony collaboration “IDC,” hailed as an “utterly relatable funky anthem,” the Complex-approved “CHERIMOYA,” and the funk-laced earworm “FAMJAM4000,” named one of Rolling Stone’s “Songs You Need to Know.” The 14-track album is executive produced by Lido, whose credits include collaborations with Ariana Grande, Mariah Carey, Chance the Rapper, Ella Mai, Halsey, Smino and more.
