Erockfor embraces her divinity and healing on Sacral
Erockfor took the powerful and courageous step of allowing the world to see her pain when she released the tracks "I Thought You Loved Me" and "I Don't Want You Back." Both cuts are tracks from her upcoming debut album "Phoenix" scheduled to be released in the fall and recount the abuse and infidelity she experienced at the hands of her former husband.
Both cuts were a part of a healing process that saw the Cameroonian who lives in Canada leave her home in Montreal for a while for South Korea. She has returned to Canada and the healing process moves into its next stage with the release of her latest song, the spiritual and senusal "Sacral."
Driven by sparse and percussive arrangement, "Sacral" tells the story of someone who destroys the damaged self and reemerges as a person who is confident in her womanhood and her ability to overcome. The title refers to the sacral chakra, which is the core of emotions and feelings.
Erockfor describes the process that led to the song's creation: “A few years into my move to Korea, I started doing burlesque and that gave me so much confidence. It made me feel sexy, and it's an energy I channel during my performances. ‘Sacral’ is a sexy song but it's also a divine song, and as I explore on the track, those concepts aren't mutually exclusive. I wanted the song to feel celestial while also giving off the feeling that you're skipping through a forest, noticing every fruit and leaf along the way – a sensual, God-filled experience”.
