Crystal Tamar Gets Cocky In 'U Gon Love Me' Video
Houston-bred R&B singer Crystal Tamar releases the music video "U Gon Love Me," the second single from her new solo, self-titled debut. The visual available on Vevo shows the multi-talented artist flexing her hip hop moves alongside Oakland dance crew Groove Against the Machine. During one of the dance sequences, Crystal wears a PVAMU Black Fox cap, making a subtle nod to Prairie View A&M's Black Foxes, her HBCU majorette line.
The visual filmed in Berkeley and directed by Story Lit Films is a gritty, urban contrast to the video for Crystal Tamar's first single, the smooth, 808 ballad "Nowhere" that showcases the Bay Area-based singer in various elegant couture looks filmed at iconic locations in San Francisco, the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre, Golden Gate Bridge and Legion of Honor Museum.
In August, Crystal Tamar released the song, and explained, "This is an anthem," she says. "It's something to sing out loud. It's saying, 'You gon love me. You gon love me. You won't put no one above me.' You can take it as a love song or take it as your anthem. It's saying, 'Hey I'm me. I can't give you anything else. And you are going to love it.'"
