Coming Soon: Olisae and UNscripted Join Forces to Deliver 'Impression' on September 8th
Olisae drops his latest single as a collab that spans both Nigeria and the US. The single "Impression" kicks off a string of collaborations that Olisae will deliver over the coming year that fuses Afrobeats and Hip-Hop as well as Afrobeats and Bounce. New Orleans rapper UNscripted features on the single as the two explore their own ability to be truthful and vulnerable in their own personal relationships... something a lot of women find lacking in their men these days.
"Impression" was mixed by long-time collaborator GrandMix and holds true to Olisae's long track record of love songs. Olisae is part of a new crop of West African artists who are bringing about the next wave of Afrobeats that span the African and US continents in terms of song composition, sound, and artist collabs. This latest collaboration with UNscripted plays on the tried and true song formula of an Afro R&B track with a hip-hop hook.
UNscripted is a well-known New Orleans native and local rap talent recognized from his freestyle sessions from the back of his truck on the corner of Frenchmen and Chartres Streets. Olisae is known for his use of multiple languages in his tracks, and combining sounds from Reggaeton, Pop, and R&B. On a recent walk around the Marigny, he saw an opportunity to tap into local talent right off the streets of New Orleans given his love of diversifying his sounds. Future collaborations are on deck with other local singers, rappers, and songwriters in an effort to bridge the gap between Afrobeats and Bounce as kicked off by other local artists VScript and DJ Ojay who is known for his Afrobeat NOLA events at places like Ace Hotel and The Maison.
