Cautious Clay sings about "Karma & Friends" for new single.

Drawing from R&B, hip hop, and leftfield indie pop, Cautious Clay has previously collaborated with the likes of Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, John Legend, and John Mayer and has built a reputation for his poetic and emotionally honest music defined by his sophisticated songwriting, soulful singing, and cinematic sound all displayed on his upcoming debut Deadpan Love. His latest single from the forthcoming album is "Karma & Friends," is a perfect example of his multi-genre and multi-layered music.
On this thumping mid-tempo groove, Clay discusses the sad affair of how people only want you when you have things to give. When the money goes, the friends leave as well. He gives his insight on the chorus as he states "Karma & friends/I'm not impressed my love/I know what you're after." The accompanying video pushes the story forward even further, as we see Clay intrigued by a TV commercial showing him how to get money. Success is gained, but is short-lived as the maker of the commercial (along with Clay) fall on hard times. With the percussion and various strings dominating the arrangement, Clay's layered vocals are still able to move the song along, and shows the intricacies that make him a sought-after musicians and songwriter.
Cautious Clay's album, Deadpan Love is set for a June 25th release, but "Karma & Friends" has enough substance as an appetizer to hold you over until the main course comes.
