Aymos takes amapiano global with his debut album Limi Yo
House music achieved global reach from and the growing popularity of the amapiano is proof of just how big House music has become since it emerged from the streets of Chicago in the 1980s.
Amapiano is a style of House music that emerged from South Africa about 10 years ago. Amapiano is piaons in the Zulu language. "Limi Yo," the new album by South African singer Aymos, will shows how South Africa has embraced the house music by putting his own unique stamp on the genre.
"Limi Yo" finds Aymos bringing funk, jazz and elements of afropop to the table while he also showcases a sweet but power packed tenor voice that is youthful and energetic and mature. Showcase tracks include the bouncy and fun "Party Yami," the percussive and the jazzy "Risasekile," that features some excellent acoustic guitar work.
