IThinkThatsRio embraces change and freedom on Afro
We've all heard the saying that rappers want to be ballers and ballers want to be rappers. Most of them have to choose because - let's face it - most rappers can't ball and most ballers can't rap.
But then there's IThinkThatsRio, who actually had a good enough game in The Beautiful Game to consider making football (the kind without helmets and pads) a career. IThinkThatsRio had the freedom to choose and he chose a turntable and a microphone. Actually, its more like the industry chose him after hearing his freestyle rap "Prayer" blew up across social media.
Now that IThinkThatsRio has released the sleek banger "Afro," it's even clearer that this hip-hop thing might just work out. "Afro" is IThinkThatsRio's declaration of independence. The song is about his hair styles, as he moves from braids to a full flowing Afro, but this empowering hip-hop anthem celebrates the freedom of people to make choices that they feel are right for them, never mind the views of the judgemental people standing on the sidelines.
And there is no better messenger than the man who stepped away from a lucrative sports career to follow his passion and dreams.
