Timothy Bloom set to gain a bigger following with steamy ballad Losing My Mind

His musical influences include legends like Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix and he's a Grammy winning songwriter who's penned hits for stars like Neyo and Chris Brown. Not bad for a preacher's kid who had to swipe the keys to the family car so that he could hear secular music.

That's where Timothy Bloom first heard Dylan, and soon times and his tunes were a'changin'. Timothy 'Keys' Bloom earned that nickname for his ability to use the keys to unlock the car's door, but now it attests to his abiities to use the piano keys to unlock the musical mysteries of love and life as a solo artist in his own right.

Bloom has been active since moving to the forefront as a solo artist more than a decade ago. That's when Bloom dropped the soulful duet "Til The End of Time," with V. Bozeman and opened a lot of ears and eyes with an intimate video that was sensaul, artistic and tasteful.

Bloom returns with his latest single, "Losing My Mind," a track that showcases how he has grown as a vocalist, a musical interpreter and a lyricist. The track has a mellow, hypnotic melody that combines the elements of contemporary R&B with blues inspired guitar licks and backing vocals that seem to float over the instrumental arrangement like summer clouds.

All of this serves as the foundation for Bloom's vocals that are mature beyond his years. A true soul singer, he brings honesty and urgency to every note that he sings and he can take his vocal instrument from a rough, gravelly baritone to a sweet high tenor or falsetto. The song itself finds him trying to come to terms with how a woman has him questioning his mental stablity. There are no questions about this cut, though. It's great.
