The Industry Standard Group is expanding its mission to reshape the economics of Broadway with the launch of Second Act Theatrical Capital, a new investment vehicle designed to open the door for broader public participation in commercial theater. The announcement marks a significant step for the collective of Tony- and Drama Desk–winning producers, who founded TISG in 2020 to create new pathways for underrepresented communities to enter the producer and investor ranks. Since its formation, TISG has built strategic partnerships, grown a committed supporter base, and earned its first co-producer credit on the upcoming revival of Gypsy starring Audra McDonald.

Second Act Theatrical Capital, known as 2ATC, uses the SEC’s Regulation CF to democratize an arena that has long required high investment thresholds and accreditation barriers. By allowing contributions as low as $500, 2ATC invites theater lovers from a wide range of backgrounds to participate in a diversified portfolio of productions curated by TISG. Rather than investing in single shows, members buy into a collective model in which TISG serves as the billed co-producer. The fund opened to the public on October 15 via Wefunder.

Alongside the launch, TISG named Tony Award–winning producer and activist Adam Hyndman as Managing Director of 2ATC. A Broadway veteran and Resident Producer at Octopus Theatricals, Hyndman brings a multidisciplinary background to the role. He also serves as Interim Executive Director of Pipeline Theatre Company and as President of the board for Producer Hub. A founding member of TISG and a key architect of 2ATC, Hyndman was recently featured on Variety’s “10 Broadway Stars to Watch” list for his leadership with RISE Theatre.

“Second Act Theatrical Capital was built to radically shift who has the ability to be a stakeholder on Broadway,” Hyndman said. “For generations, access has been framed as impossible. We built a model that integrates into the Broadway market as it exists now, reduces barriers, mitigates risk, and strengthens the pipeline of new and experienced investors needed to sustain the industry.”

TISG co-founders Sammy Lopez and Rashad V. Chambers praised Hyndman’s appointment, citing his commitment to accessibility and creative rigor. The organization also unveiled expanded leadership roles, including strategy consultant Isha Gulati and Development and Membership Director Cheyenne Myrie. The Executive Committee will include Hyndman, Lopez, and Chambers, with an Advisory Board composed of TISG’s co-founders and longtime collaborators.
