Soulful vocalist and songwriter Robbie Love is stepping into her own spotlight with the release of her new EP, Just Robbie, a deeply personal collection of music that introduces audiences to her powerful voice, heartfelt storytelling, and artistic identity.

Featuring the heartfelt lead single “When Love Comes Around,” the project showcases Robbie’s ability to blend classic soul, contemporary R&B, and jazz-infused Neo-soul while honoring the musical foundation that shaped her journey.

More than just a new release, Just Robbie is a reflection of love, family, legacy, and the evolution of an artist embracing her own voice.

The four-track EP features original songs including “When Love Comes Around,” “Infant Eyes,” “We Believe,” and “Music Mama and Me,” along with a television version of “When Love Comes Around” that expands the song’s visual storytelling experience.

The project features an extraordinary lineup of musicians, including guitarists Juewett Bostick and Gemi Taylor, bassists Welton Gite, Del Atkins, and Harvey Estrada, keyboardist Herman Jackson, drummers Jeff Suttles and Ronnie Kaufman, percussionists Eric McKane and Munyungo, soprano saxophonists Azar Lawrence and Gary Bartz, background vocalist Kari Taylor, and lead vocal production and arrangements by Laythan Armor.

For Robbie Love, Just Robbie represents a personal and artistic milestone, a moment where she is stepping forward to share not only her voice but her story.

“Just Robbie represents me stepping forward and allowing people to experience my voice, my story, and my artistry,” she shares.

“Music has always been a part of my DNA. I grew up surrounded by incredible music, and my mother, Mary Love, was such an important influence in my life.

This project honors where I come from, but it also introduces who I am as an artist today. It is a very personal body of work that reflects my love for soul, R&B, jazz, and meaningful storytelling.”

The EP’s lead single, “When Love Comes Around,” carries a powerful message about love, gratitude, and recognizing the special moments that bring joy, peace, and renewed purpose.

“‘When Love Comes Around’ is about recognizing those special moments when love enters your life and changes your perspective,” Robbie explains.

“It is about appreciation, joy, and being grateful for the people and experiences that bring light into your world. I wanted the song to feel uplifting and remind listeners that love can bring peace, happiness, and a renewed sense of purpose.”

The project also introduces Robbie as a songwriter, allowing her to share personal stories and emotions through her own creative expression.

“As a singer, you are interpreting the words and emotions of a song, but as a songwriter, you are sharing a piece of yourself,” she says.

“’When Love Comes Around’ allowed me to express something that is personal and universal at the same time. I want listeners to connect with the emotion behind the music and find their own meaning in the songs.”

Robbie’s musical journey is deeply connected to the legacy of her mother, Mary Love, a respected figure in the Los Angeles R&B and soul music community.

Growing up surrounded by music gave Robbie a strong appreciation for authenticity, musicianship, and connecting with audiences.

“My mother’s legacy is a blessing and a source of inspiration,” Robbie shares. “She was a powerful vocalist who made an impact during an important era of R&B and soul music. Growing up with that foundation gave me a deep appreciation for musicianship, authenticity, and connecting with an audience. I carry that legacy with pride, but I also want to create my own path and allow people to know Robbie Love.”

Adding another level of musical excellence to Just Robbie is the involvement of legendary jazz artists Azar Lawrence and Gary Bartz. Their contributions bring additional depth and artistry to the recordings.

“It’s absolutely amazing to have these two incredible icons on the EP,” Robbie says. “Having musicians of their caliber contributing to this project elevated the music in such a special way.

Their artistry, passion, and understanding of soul and jazz brought another level of depth to the recordings. Every musician involved helped create an authentic musical experience.”

One of the most innovative elements surrounding Just Robbie is the creation of video liner notes for each song. Inspired by the storytelling tradition of album liner notes, Robbie and her team are bringing that experience into today’s digital landscape.

The video liner notes allow listeners to explore the inspiration behind each song, the musicians involved, and the creative process in a more personal and interactive way.

“Traditionally, fans connected with albums through vinyl liner notes, where they could read about the songs, musicians, and creative process,” Robbie explains.

“The video liner notes bring that same spirit into today’s digital world. They allow audiences to experience the inspiration behind the music in a way that feels personal, interactive, and easy to share.”

The video liner notes are also being created in different formats for audiences, including mobile and widescreen versions, allowing fans to experience the project across multiple platforms.

“Today, people experience music through many different platforms, especially their phones and digital devices,” Robbie says.

“We wanted to create content that allows people to engage with the project wherever they are. Each video adds another layer to the listening experience and gives fans a chance to explore the musicianship, creativity, and stories behind the songs.”

The project also expands beyond music with the short film “GET IN THE CAR,” a creative piece that explores the challenges independent artists face while pursuing their dreams.

Blending humor, imagination, and entertainment, the film offers audiences another perspective into the world behind Just Robbie.

“‘GET IN THE CAR’ is a fun and creative way to introduce people to the world behind this project,” Robbie explains.

“It highlights some of the challenges independent artists face when trying to break through in a competitive industry, but it does so with humor, imagination, and entertainment. The film allows us to tell another part of the story while engaging audiences in a different way.”

Robbie believes technology has become an important tool for independent artists to build deeper relationships with their audiences.

“Technology has completely changed how artists share their music and connect with fans,” she says.

“Computers and smartphones have become part of the entertainment experience, and we wanted to use those tools creatively. Music is still the heart of everything, but technology allows us to expand the story, invite people into the process, and create more meaningful connections.”

The EP also includes Robbie’s reimagined interpretation of Wayne Shorter’s classic “Infant Eyes,” a song that beautifully bridges jazz, soul, and emotion while honoring her musical roots.

“‘Infant Eyes’ represents the connection between jazz, soul, and emotion,” Robbie shares. “It is such a beautiful composition, and we wanted to honor the spirit of the original while bringing our own interpretation to it. Having Azar Lawrence be part of that recording made it even more meaningful.”

She adds, “What really resonates with me is how the lyrical content organically connects with my musical roots, and also how it honors my mother’s eternal love for her children, and for the gift of musical expression. It was very important to her that we carry on the legacy that she created for us. Music has always been our life.”

With Just Robbie, the artist hopes listeners experience more than just great music, she hopes they feel the heart behind every note.

“I hope they feel something real,” Robbie says. “I hope the music brings them joy, comfort, inspiration, and connection. At the heart of this project is love, family, and the belief that music can bring people together. I want listeners to hear my heart in every song.”

As Robbie Love begins this exciting new chapter, Just Robbie serves as both an introduction and a statement: an artist honoring her past while confidently creating her future.

“This is just the beginning,” she says. “I look forward to more performances, more storytelling, and continuing to create music that reflects who I am.”
