In the weeks following school shootings in Florida and Maryland, the public has expressed shared outrage for the threat gun violence poses to students. While people might disagree politically with whether or not gun control is the solution, most everyone, including much of Hollywood, believes something must change.

Nationwide, beginning early March 24, the March for Our Lives movement commenced across the nation. In most of the country’s largest cities, millions of people marched in solidarity with the survivors of gun violence.

George and Amal Clooney were among the movement’s key financial backers, fronting $500K. Following their pledge, Oprah Winfrey matched the $500K. Other celebrities including Khloé Kardashian, Justin Bieber, and Taylor Swift posted messages on Twitter and Instagram showing their support.
