LunchMoney Lewis Releases New Single "Furry Friend"

Miami musician and chart-topping songwriter LunchMoney Lewis follows the Meli Andrea-produced music video for "Buttercup" with "Furry Friend," off his upcoming project 'KOSH, THE LEGEND OF A SIMPLE MAN' via Lunchbox Records.

“Furry Friend is the latest release from my album 'KOSH, THE LEGEND OF A SIMPLE MAN'. This project is very personal to me, much of the writing focuses on the things that mean the most in my life and stories from my childhood. I wanted to lean in with something lighthearted and fun, and honestly what’s better than a song about our pets and joy they bring us,” says The Secret Life of Pets 2 soundtrack vocalist when asked about the significance of his new drop in a press statement.

Most recently, Lewis has contributed to the careers of rising stars Elmiene and Sekou, respectively, co-writing their breakout singles "Reclusive" and "Dangerous Lover." As if that wasn’t enough, in July he lent his pen again to Shenseea for "Brucksweat," which samples Shaggy’s "Hey Sexy Lady."

Gamal "LunchMoney" Lewis, born Gamal Kosh Lewis, is a Billboard chart-topping artist, songwriter, and producer from Florida. A dynamic force in Pop, Hip-Hop, and R&B, he broke onto the scene with his 2015 global hit “Bills." Before his solo career, Lewis co-wrote hits like Jessie J’s “Burnin’ Up” and Fifth Harmony’s “Bo$$,” and he was featured on Nicki Minaj’s “Trini Dem Girls.”

Deeply rooted in his Jamaican heritage, Lewis’s artistry is shaped by the sounds of Reggae and Caribbean music. Outside the studio, he’s known to spin vinyl across Miami, DJing eclectic sets that blend classic Reggae, Afrobeat, and Kompas. In 2024, he won a Grammy for co-writing Lil Durk and J.
