Jaleesa Small Delivers Feel Good Vibes in Latest Release, ‘Sunshine’
Jaleesa Small is an emerging artist bringing a warm sound to today’s R&B scene. Born and raised in Louisburg, North Carolina, she carries the spirit of the South in both her music and her personality, she proudly represents her background as an authentic Southern woman. Her music falls under soulful R&B with a Southern twist, often described as Southern Soul. Her sound is shaped by powerful voices she grew up listening to, including Alicia Keys, Patti LaBelle, and Mariah Carey. She studied their performances closely and drew inspiration from their passion, vocal strength, and strong stage presence. She’s been active on stage, connecting with fans through live performances. She performed on February 21 at Soul Bar in Danville, Virginia, February 27 at Club Love in Raleigh, North Carolina, and March 14 at The Good Bar in Burlington, North Carolina. Each show gave her the chance to share her voice and energy in a live setting, building a stronger bond with her audience.
Her current single, ‘Sunshine’, reflects her desire to bring light and love into people’s lives. The song carries a message that everyone needs a little warmth and happiness, and she encourages listeners to make it part of their daily routine. The track highlights her smooth vocals and her ability to connect emotionally with her audience. The creative process behind Sunshine came together in a memorable way. When producer DeYon Dobson first played the song for her, she immediately felt a strong connection to it. The lyrics spoke to her, and the music inspired her to bring it to life. One of the biggest challenges was the distance between them, as he was based in Los Angeles while she remained in North Carolina. Despite that, he traveled to North Carolina and in just two days, they recorded two songs. After returning to Los Angeles, he completed the production, and when she heard the final version, she was amazed at how beautifully it all came together.
Through ‘Sunshine’, Jaleesa Small hopes to share an encouraging word for people to find someone special to share their lives with and to embrace the joy that comes with real connection.
