Inside The Urban Influencer’s Street Grind Call
By DJ Queen Bee
As the landscape of hip hop continues to evolve, the Street Grind Call remains a cornerstone for authentic culture and artist development. Hosted and curated for The Urban Influencer Street Grind Call, our latest session moved beyond mere celebration to provide a masterclass in networking, storytelling, and industry consistency.
The call featured a standout emcee Tre-Dot originally from Queens, New York, alongside Hastyle Rhymes and Luck (H&L Associates), and Bronx rapper Mollie. In an era often dominated by viral shortcuts, this two-and-a-half-hour exchange captured hip hop in its purest form: raw, intentional, and rooted in soul.
I guided the conversation to explore the origins of the artists involved, creating a dialogue designed to do more than just entertain—it served as a catalyst for networking and collaboration. By sharing their unique journeys, the participants built common bonds that strengthened individual careers and the broader community.
Culture grows when artists show up, collaborate, and learn from each other. The Street Grind Call is an in-depth platform for connection and artist development where conversations spark real reflection.
A primary focus of the session was Tre-Dot’s record “My Daddy’s Watch,” a track that offers a window into his EP, "When Giants Sleep". Before the record's wide push, the call provided a rare space for the artist to reflect on the emotional weight behind the music. Tre-Dot also discussed his work with DJ Kawon, specifically the creative process behind "Vinyl Tears."
The discussion highlighted the importance of intentionality, with Tre-Dot sharing his vision to become "the Marvin Gaye of rap and the Donny Hathaway of hip hop."
Addressing the "silence" often seen in the industry, our panel discussed the necessity of staying active and visible. Tre-Dot emphasized that impact outweighs numbers: “My biggest problem with hip hop is so many dope MCs stop putting out music... I don’t care if five people hear what I do. If I could touch one out of that five, I’m good.”
Input from our special guests Hastyle Rhymes, Luck, and Mollie further enriched the session, adding layers of mentorship and community-driven perspectives.
