ET Boys Return With a Genre-Bending Sound on New Single “Woe Am I”

ET Boys is a dynamic duo composed of brothers Tacboy and Sharkeyes. Originally from Chicago, the brothers relocated to South Florida when Tacboy was just four years old. Having spent most of their life in the Sunshine State, Tacboy proudly identifies as a Florida boy. ET Boys blends elements from various genres, including pop, pop-punk, nu-metal, rap, trance, and house. This eclectic mix results in a sound that is distinctly their own—one they affectionately dub "ET style." Sharkeyes and Tacboy create music that blends styles in a way that is hard to define. Their sound mixes elements of pop, hip hop, rap, synth, and rock. It’s music that can’t be placed in one box. Tacboy says that after listening to a few of their songs, people will understand. The sound leans toward synth and pop, but it’s really just pure ET. Their creative chemistry brings together different moods and ideas into something clean and original. Sharkeyes draws inspiration from artists like Phil Collins, Lil Wayne, Nobuo Uematsu, CHVRCHES, and Kavinsky. Tacboy is influenced by blink-182, Kid Cudi, The Doors, iLoveMakonnen, and even Bruno Mars. Together, their mix of influences shapes a sound that is both nostalgic and futuristic.
Their latest single, “Woe Am I”, came together through a creative process built on collaboration. Sharkeyes starts by sending beats to Tacboy and Monsie, their guitarist and co-writer. Monsie might add live guitar, and Tacboy records vocals. Once the pieces are in place, Sharkeyes turns the demo into a full production. Each member adds their ideas until the song feels complete. Tacboy’s process changes with every track. Sometimes the melodies come instantly, other times he plans the lyrics carefully before recording.
Sharkeyes focuses on making music that sounds cool and powerful, leaving the emotional meaning to Tacboy’s lyrics. Tacboy says their songs feel like a slice of life anime—moments captured in sound. “Woe Am I” reflects whatever emotions he felt during recording. Most of their songs come down to love, how beautiful it feels, even when it hurts. For ET, it’s all about creating music that feels alive, raw, and real.
