Burgeoning R&B Group Next Town Down Drop 'Juliet' EP (Stream) + 'Wonderin' Video
Emerging R&B group Next Town Down has been around for a few years now, and they became popular on the video social network app musical.ly. They've now released their debut EP Juliet via RCA Records.
Members Terence, Tre’Von, Chris, Malik and Leon are trying to keep the legacy of R&B groups like New Edition, Boyz II Men, and B2K and keep that aesthetic as one of the few male R&B groups to emerge in the 2010s.
Throughout the "Juliet" project, the budding group keeps listeners engaged with catchy tunes that are bound to grow their fan base. Juliet opens with vocal-focused track “Notice,” a tune that samples Diggy’s 2018 single “It Is What It Is.” The six-track offering features guest appearances from 6LACK (“Easy”), Rich the Kid (“Bussdown”) and Calboy (“Front Seat”).
In addition to releasing their EP, Next Town Down also premiered a visual for “Wonderin’.” The video was filmed in Los Angeles and pays homage to The Montague Boys from Romeo and Juliet.
The group released a joint statement celebrating the release of Juliet:
“This is truly a moment. Thank u guys for waiting on us. everything we do is for u and we wouldn’t be here without u,” they wrote on Instagram. “We spent a lot of time and gave a lot of ourselves in this project, so We’re proud to give u something that we handcrafted for you guys. we hope it embodies who we are individually and as lovers. This is just the beginning of the love story.”
