After much speculation, it's been confirmed that Beyonce has joined the cast of the 2019 live-action remake of the Disney classic "The Lion King."

Bey will provide the voice of Nala, the childhood friend (and later love interest) of Simba, who will be played by Doland Glover.

Other cast members include James Earl Jones, who will reprise his role from the 1994 original as Simba’s father Mufasa, and Chiwetel Ejiofor who will play the villain, Scar. Others include Alfre Woodard (as Simba's mother Sarabi), John Kani (as the wise witch doctor Rafiki), and comedian/actor Keegan-Michael Key (as the hyena Kamari).

Jon Favreau will direct the feature film. “It is a director’s dream to assemble a talented team like this to bring this classic story to life,” Favreau said in a statement.
