Alexa, Amazon's newest digital assistant, is taking the tech world by storm, making life easier for everyone with information at the drop of a dime. But now, the artificially intelligent helper is now assisting in your music listening experience.

The company announced in late August a new feature that makes Alexa smarter and allows you to sync up multiple Echo devices to play music throughout your home.

It's easy to sync up; using the Alexa app, you name a group of devices one thing or location, which allows you to pinpoint the music you want to hear simultaneously for that location. For instance, by saying "Alexa, play Tupac's "Keep Your Head Up" second floor," all of the devices on the second floor will play Tupac's "Keep Your Head Up" at the same time, providing a truly surround sound experience.

Alexa is compatible with Amazon Music, Pandora, iHeartRadio, and TuneIn. Spotify and SirusXM are expected to join Alexa's digital music collaborators. The feature is available now for owners of Echo, Echo Dot and Echo Show devices in the United States, United Kingdom, and Germany.

Brands Sonos, Bose, Samsung, and Sound United are all working with Amazon to make their products Alexa-friendly.

"Alexa set the standard for voice in smart homes, so working with Amazon to bring voice control to Sonos for the first time was an obvious choice," said Antoine Leblond, vice president of software at Sonos.
